Description | Anatomy and Physiology II is the second part of a two-course sequence. It is a study of the structure and function of the human body including the following systems: endocrine, cardiovascular, immune, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive (including nutrition), urinary (including fluid and electrolyte balance), and reproductive (including human development and genetics). Emphasis is on interrelationships among systems and regulation of physiological functions involved in maintaining homeostasis. | ||||||||||

The access code is "Modified Mastering A&P". Exam I: February 12, 2020 (Chapters 16 & 17) Exam II: March 26-29, 2020 (Chapters 18, 19,& 20) It will begin at 8 pm on 3/26/2020 and will end at 8 pm on 3/29/2020 Exam III: April 12-15, 2020 (Chapters 22 & 23) It will begin at 8 pm on 4/12/2020 and will end at 8 pm on April 15, 2020 Exam IV: April 26-29, 2020 (Chapters 21, 24, & 25) It will begin at 8 pm on 4/26/2020 and will end at 8 pm on April 29, 2020. 83.33% Lecture Exams and 16.67% Homework assignments There will be five in class lecture exams. Each lecture exam will be worth a maximum of 100 points. There will be homework assignments (Pearson Mastering; online) that will be worth a maximum total of 100 points, and the student's total points for the homework assignments will count as his or her lecture exam VI score. Homework assignments will represent 16.67% of your overall grade. (total homework points earned/total maximum homework points for all assignments; for example, 700/760=92 points for homework; maximum of 100 points . |

I will not discuss grades over the phone. You may request your grades by e-mail from your Lamar State College-Port Arthur e-mail account (for example, doeja@lamarpa.edu) or by student-instructor conference. |

Attendance Policy | Absences, Tardiness, and Make-ups: Attendance is required, and punctuality is expected. If you miss 5 classes with unexcused absences, you may be dropped from the course by the instructor. You are responsible for all materials covered in class. If you quit coming to class and do not officially drop, your grades will be averaged, and you will receive the grade represented by this average. The administrative details are your responsibility (You must officially drop the course.). You can only miss one exam with an excused absence (excluding the final), and you must take the final exam. Excused absences include medical and family emergencies and are approved at the instructor's discretion. Poor preparation or conflict with other scheduled exams is not a valid excuse for missing an exam. Written proof from a physician will be required for medical and family emergencies in order to substitute the score for the missed exam. | ||||||||||

Make-ups: THERE ARE NO MAKE UP EXAMS OR RE-TAKES! The dates for ALL EXAMS are clearly posted on the Lecture Schedule and you are expected to be in class on those days. If you miss an exam FOR ANY REASON YOU MUST EMAIL me IMMEDIATELY -- and then CHECK YOUR email for a response from me containing instructions. If you do miss an exam, DO NOT wait until the next class period to email or talk to me! If you do not complete an exam before the next class period, you will NOT be allowed to take the exam. If you do not take an exam, you will receive either a grade of 0 for that exam or your lowest exam grade will be counted twice. Based on your excuse and your effort to contact me, I will decide which option will apply. If you are missing an exam because of a medical emergency, bring me a copy of the discharge papers from the Emergency Room/Hospital. If you have a previously scheduled appointment, event, etc that conflicts with an exam, you MUST CONTACT ME BY EMAIL AT LEAST ONE WEEK in advance to make arrangements to take the exam EARLY.
